The town of Lagos in the Western Algarve is shaped by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. Today, tourists flock to the famous nearby beaches like Praia de Dona Ana or Meia Praia and the bustling restaurant scene. However, fishing is still a very active part of the town's trade which shows in the local restaurant's rich selection of fresh fish and shellfish. The well-protected harbor was the starting point for the famous Portuguese marine explorations to Africa and Asia in the 15th century, and the legacy of Henry the Navigator is still cherished here. The Casa Albatroz townhouse is in the old town, within the historic wall. It has been renovated in collaboration with an architect, mixing traditional materials with a modern look. The owners have traveled extensively and picked up ideas from hotels they liked to design the house. They have Casa Albatroz as their home and workplace during winter and rent it out during summer when they return to Scandinavia. The house is furnished with great care to make it comfortable, practical, and beautiful. The lower level consists of two bedrooms, each with its bathroom en-suite: a separate guest toilet and a small inner yard with a hammock. The stairs lead up to the upper level with a living room, kitchen, and direct access to a sizeable terracotta-tiled terrace. The comfort level is high with three air-conditioning units, two comfortable Scandi-style double beds, 160 cm wide, high-speed internet (up to 200 Mbit/s), a TV with international channels, and a Bluetooth B&O-speaker. Both bathrooms are brand new, with large showers and Portuguese tiles. There is a blackout curtain in one of the bedrooms and shutters in the other. The kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, cutlery, glasses, and plates. Two sun parasols are on the terrace, ensuring shade for hot days.  All that Lagos has to offer- restaurants, cafes, bakeries, the award-winning marina, entertainment, and beaches - are within a few minutes' walking distance. In addition, guests who bring a car can park it on the free parking area right outside the historic wall, only a two-minute walk away. Lagos is a vibrant city, but the neighborhood is relatively calm since Casa Albatroz does not have bars or restaurants next to it. However, there is local traffic on the street during daytime, but evenings and nights are usually tranquil. License No 142916/AL
